A steam generator, also called a steam heat source machine (commonly known as a boiler) is a mechanical device that uses the thermal energy of a fuel or other energy source to heat water into hot water or steam. The original meaning of the pot is a container of water heated over a fire, and the furnace is the place where the fuel is burned, and the boiler includes two major parts, the pot and the furnace.

On September 20, 2014, the steam generator, the core equipment of the high-temperature gas-cooled reactor nuclear power plant of the National Science and Technology Major Project, completed the installation of the first set of spiral coil assemblies, marking a breakthrough in the main manufacturing process bottleneck of China's high-temperature gas-cooled reactor steam generator.
